The sport progression

Thanks to the methodical and planned work, the sport progression came pretty soon and the first success arrived with the Spanish Championships for teenagers.

It was in 1990, in Mazarrón, where the Club obtained the first three Spanish Championships titles, thanks to the women juvenile team, in the categories of Teams (Gloria Gauchía, Monserrat Altimira and Nuria Altimira), Individual (Gloria Gauchía), and Doubles (Gloria Gauchía and Amara Cabané).

In 1993, thanks to Elisabet Arnau, our Club obtained the title of Juvenile Spanish Championship in Santa Coloma de Gramanet . The same player would win again this title during two consecutive seasons, in the Spanish Championships in Tarragona in 1994, and in Asturias in 1995.

The Club has reached so far up to 65 Spanish Championships, obtained by the men and women players, apart from the Spanish Sub championships, and the Bronze medals obtained in all the categories.

An important factor to reach such good results has been the Municipal School of Tennis Table "Francesc Barneda". Since then, we have been working together very closely with this institution, introducing our sport among the schoolboys and schoolgirls of Ripollet. This sport workshop allows us to enjoy a great number of youth and reserve teams in order to work afterwards the technification.

Thanks to the sport success of our youth and reserve teams, The General Board of Sport of Generalitat de Catalunya awarded our Club with foundation of "The First Technical Centre of Table Tennis". This award has been a helpful tool for us, and has allowed us to work more efficiently and reach higher results

Progression of the Club men teams in the national leagues

In 1982, the Club had a team in the 3rd Men Provincial Category in Barcelona . With the new youth reserve teams, promotions came along to the extent of participating in the Men Honour Division in the season 1990-91. Joan Vila, Eduard Escamilla, and Felipe Olivera composed the team. However, the Club could not maintain the category (due mainly to financial reasons). The club played in the National 1st Division until the season 1997-1998.

It was in the 1997-98 season when thanks to the collaboration of our sponsor "CAN BERARDO" and the dedication and great effort of our players, the male team won the Spanish League of First Division, and we returned to the highest category of the Spanish Table Tennis. The team was composed at the time Josep María Palés, Miquel Arnau, Fredy Fajula, Andreu Cano, Rafael Ramírez and Mads Sorensen.

In the 1998-99 season, with Joep María Palés, Li Qi, and Miquel Arnau, we obtained the third place in the National League of the Men Honour Division, and this allowed us to participate in the new National League of Men Superdivision during the season 1999-2000. During the four next seasons, the men team was among the first eight table tennis Spanish teams until the 2003-2004 season when, due to financial reasons, our first men team has returned to the Honour Division Spanish League.

The progression of the Club women teams in the National Leagues

The girls reached the National League a bit earlier than the boys did, during the 1987-88 season, in a very tight promotion phase celebrated in Valencia . The players were: Anna Fàbregas, Felicitat Barceló, Milanka Kaurin, Rosa Prat, and Montserrat Altimira

During the 1989-90 season, the Club even had 2 teams at the same time playing in the National League of Women Honour Division.

In the 1990-91 season, the team lost the category. They recovered the category with a new generation of players in the 1992-93 season. Elisabet Arnau, Imma Garcés, Anna Vera, and Zhang Yun composed the team.

Since then, we took part in the National League of Women Honour Division until 1998-99 season, when, thanks as well to the collaboration of our sponsor "Finques Ripollet" and the effort of our players, (Elisabet Arnau, Alba Prades, Mireia Jurado, and Li Yanlan) we got the promotion to new Women National Superdivision, in which we took part for the first time during the 1999-2000 season. They have also won the second place of The Absolute Women Spanish Championship in the Category of Teams in El Puerto de Santa María, with the team formed by Elisabet Arnau, Alba Prades, Mireia Jurado, and Li Yanlan in a very tight and exciting final match versus Relesa Cartagena, broadcast by Canal Sur (Andalucía's Television). Once more, our women won the second place of The Absolute Women Spanish Championship in the Category of Teams in a repeated final match versus Relesa Cartagena, this time in Santiago de Compostela in the season 2002-03, even tighter than the first one, since the final score was 4-3. In this second final Alba Prades, Sara Ramírez, and Wu Xue (Neus) formed the team.

A record unbeaten so far in our country

We must point out that, during the quadrennium 1999-2003, our Club has been the only Club in Spain which has had at the same time both men and women teams participating in all the country Superdivision and Honour Division Leagues, as well as in the First, Second, and Third Division. Until now, no other Catalan or Spanish team has ever achieved this goal in a same season.

We can add to this the 65 Spanish Championship titles won until now, the 2 European Championships titles won by Sara Ramírez, as well as the countless Catalan Championship titles won in all the divisions. We can imagine what a human and sportive potential our Club has and tries to improve day by day, striving for being among the best teams of our country.
